NATURALIZATION PROGRAM

FASGI helps immigrants become US Citizens.  We provide assistance in completing application forms and determine the client’s eligibility for a full or partial waiver of the application fee.  Becoming a citizen gives a person the right to vote, qualify for federal jobs, and makes it easier to apply for your family to join you in the United States.
RIDER RELIEF TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM

Bus/Metro riders, based on eligibility, may obtain coupons at the FASGI Bayanihan Center to save on the cost of fares.  In order to be eligible for these coupons, riders must apply with their tap cards, official identification (issued by the State of California or other official government entity; students must provide school IDs), and proof of income (such as Medi-CAL or EBT card, income tax return, W-2).
CULINARY ARTS PROGRAM

Food is embedded within Filipino culture as an important factor in traditions, practices and daily ways of life.  At FASGI, one can learn how to cook traditional Filipino dishes, including ingredient substitutions and healthifying techniques without sacrificing taste. Private and customized classes for 1-3 persons may be scheduled with our food experts.  Whether you are interested in Filipino food or other fare, we have experts who can teach you. Call to schedule an appointment at 213-487-9805.
MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS

At FASGI, we understand that mental health means more than dealing with mental illness.  In our everyday lives, things may happen that could cause angst, frustration, anxiety, confusion, conflict, and a host of other issues that could affect our mental well-being.  Some of these may be caused or propagated by cultural issues that have become deeply rooted in a person’s psyche.  We are here to help you.  We have developed, in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, a variety of activities (classes, workshops, seminars, etc.),  as well as outreach, referral and advocacy, to identify, understand, and address the issues of behavioral instabilities.  Do not hesitate to call us if you think that you or someone you know needs help.
ARTS INCUBATOR PROGRAM

If you are an artist, art connoisseur, collector, purveyor, art lover, student, or wish to meet Filipino American artists in person, come to FASGI and experience art in person.  Our art programs currently include a permanent gallery, special exhibits, art workshops and instruction, portraiture, and artist-in-residence program. Stay tuned, we have more to come.
